plasticised

Chemically made flexible

Plasticised (also spelled plasticized) describes material that has been made more flexible or pliable by adding a plasticizer—a chemical that softens rigid substances.

PVC pipes are plasticised to prevent cracking.

The term extends figuratively to anything rendered more malleable: Years of compromise had left his principles plasticised.
