overmining
Depleting ore reserves
Overmining is extracting minerals or resources from land at an unsustainable rate, depleting deposits faster than they can be replenished (if renewable) or exhausting them entirely.
The term appears in environmental and economic contexts: Overmining has left the region's aquifers dangerously low.
In gaming, particularly Minecraft and similar titles, overmining describes excessive resource extraction that strips an area bare or destabilizes terrain.
