near enough
Almost but acceptable
Near enough means approximately correct or close enough to be acceptable.
Something near enough to a target isn't exact but serves the purpose: It's near enough to noon—let's break for lunch.
The phrase often dismisses the need for precision: Is it a mile away? Near enough.
More common in British than American English, where "close enough" dominates.
