military offenses
Breaches of duty
Military offenses are violations of military law or the code of conduct governing armed forces personnel.
These range from relatively minor infractions like being absent without leave (AWOL) or insubordination to serious crimes like desertion, mutiny, or conduct unbecoming an officer.
Military offenses are tried in courts-martial rather than civilian courts: He was charged with multiple military offenses after going AWOL for six months.
