midnight feast
Secret late meal
A midnight feast is a secretive late-night meal, typically among children at boarding school or sleepovers, eaten after lights-out with smuggled snacks.
The term evokes British school stories and childhood adventure—the thrill of breaking rules together in whispered darkness: We planned a midnight feast with biscuits and sweets hidden under the bed.
