lantern-jawed
Having jutting jaw
Lantern-jawed describes a face with a long, thin jaw that juts forward prominently, giving the lower face a hollow, angular appearance.
The term evokes the rectangular shape of an old-fashioned lantern.
It typically describes men and suggests a gaunt or bony quality rather than a rounded one.
The lantern-jawed stranger sat alone at the end of the bar.
