green up

Turn leafy again

Green up means to become green, typically describing vegetation emerging in spring: The hills green up quickly after the first warm rains.

It can also mean to add plants or environmentally friendly features to a space: They're greening up the office with potted plants.

In poker and gambling, to green up is to exchange lower-denomination chips for higher-value green ones.
