goosestepped

Legs locked, marching

Goosestepped is the past tense of goosestep, a military marching style where the legs swing stiffly forward without bending at the knee.

Associated most strongly with Nazi Germany and other authoritarian regimes, it now carries connotations of rigid militarism or blind obedience: The soldiers goosestepped past the reviewing stand.
