gob stoppers
Giant hard candies
Gobstoppers are hard, round candies designed to be sucked rather than chewed, lasting a long time in the mouth.
The name comes from "gob," British slang for mouth—they're large enough to stop your gob.
Often layered in different colors that reveal themselves as the candy dissolves: The jawbreaker changed from red to yellow to green.
Called jawbreakers in American English.
