chock a block
Stuffed to bursting
Chock-a-block means completely full, packed tightly together with no room to spare: The shelves were chock-a-block with books.
The expression comes from nautical rigging, where blocks (pulleys) drawn so tight they touch can move no further.
Also spelled chockablock or chock-full, which carries the same meaning.
