Henry Higgins
Henry Higgins is the phonetics professor in George Bernard Shaw's play *Pygmalion* and its musical adaptation *My Fair Lady*, who transforms a Cockney flower seller into a refined lady through speech training.
The name has become shorthand for anyone who attempts to remake another person—especially their speech or manners: He fancied himself a Henry Higgins, correcting everyone's pronunciation.
