Br'er Fox
Cunning forest schemer
Br'er Fox is a character from African American folklore, popularized in Joel Chandler Harris's Uncle Remus stories.
He's the cunning but perpetually outwitted antagonist to Br'er Rabbit. "Br'er" is a dialectal contraction of "brother," used as a familiar title among the animal characters: Br'er Fox set a trap, but Br'er Rabbit outsmarted him again.
