Bernoulli effect
Fast flow, low pressure
The Bernoulli effect is the principle that faster-moving fluid exerts lower pressure than slower-moving fluid.
This explains how airplane wings generate lift—air flowing faster over the curved top creates lower pressure than the slower air beneath.
The effect applies to any fluid, including water and gases: The Bernoulli effect pulls the shower curtain inward when water flows.
