scatology
Study of excrement
Scatology is the study of or obsession with excrement and excretion.
The term applies to scientific analysis of feces (as in zoology or medicine) but more often describes preoccupation with fecal matter in humor, literature, or speech.
Scatological jokes rely on toilet humor: His comedy is pure scatology—nothing but fart jokes and poop references.
