insider threat
Trusted employee danger
An insider threat is a security risk posed by someone within an organization—an employee, contractor, or partner with authorized access who misuses that access to harm the organization.
The threat may be intentional (espionage, sabotage, data theft) or unintentional (negligence, falling for phishing).
The company's biggest insider threat turned out to be a disgruntled IT administrator.
