bupkus

Absolutely nothing whatsoever

Bupkus, also spelled bupkis or bubkes, means nothing at all or something utterly worthless.

The word comes from Yiddish and literally refers to goat droppings, which gives it an earthier dismissiveness than simply saying "nothing." It's used for emphasis when someone has received or achieved absolutely zero: After all that work, we got bupkus.

The term is especially common in American English, often in contexts of complaint or disappointment.
