Color coding can help visitors identify images, as well as provide context.
You need to explain the differences between major regions of an image. For example, which parts of an aircraft are responsible for lift propulsion, and which are responsible for control?
Provide a button that color-codes the image into clearly defined regions, so that visitors can see the major components.
Use strongly contrasting colors, overlaid semi-transparently, this technique is very helpful for identifying regions of an image. It is also a way to provide context for an image.
